A man was struck and killed by a minivan Wednesday night as he crossed a busy Brooklyn street, according to police.

NYPD officials said Louis Garcia, 68, was making his way south in the crosswalk at the intersection of Glenwood Road and East 105th Street in Canarsie at around 7p.m.

He was hit by a 2017 white Dodge Caravan heading westbound on Glenwood road, leaving him with serious injuries.

First responders transported Garcia to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 47-year-old male driver of the minivan remained on scene and was taken into custody, according to police. He was not immediately charged with a specific crime.

Police said Garcia lived across the borough from where he was struck, in Greenwood.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
