LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) – A woman was struck with a hockey stick on the Lower East Side last week, according to the NYPD.

The 26-year-old woman was walking on East 6th Street around 10:30 p.m. when a man approached her and hit her in the leg without warning, according to authorities.

EMS treated the victim, police said.

The suspect, who was last seen wearing a black jacket, light-colored hoodie, light-colored pants and multi-colored sneakers, was last seen running eastbound on East 6th Street, according to authorities.

Submit tips to police by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, downloading the NYPD Crime Stoppers mobile app, or texting 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577. Spanish-speaking callers are asked to dial 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
