NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced a new jobs and talent portal aimed at a citywide effort to help the city’s workforce.
Jobs NYC is a new portal with the goal of making jobs in the city more accessible. According to Adams, the new portal will have three main focuses:
“While we have a lot to celebrate in recovering all of the private-sector jobs lost during the pandemic — more than a year ahead of schedule — our recovery has not been equitable, and it has not yet reached every New Yorker. That’s why we are doing everything we can to make sure New York City remains a city for working-class people,” said Adams.
In 2023, Adams removed the requirement to have a bachelor’s degree for certain jobs.
The new portal allows those looking to hire to find free services to fill open positions and helps job seekers find opportunities and programs to help them land a job.
