Trump: My running mate could be one of my primary
rivals
Former US President Donald Trump said on Sunday he would consider some of his 2024 GOP primary rivals as potential running mates or Cabinet members if he wins back the White House, The Hill reported. Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Trump singled out entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) for praise, though he did not specify whom he would consider as a running mate. "I think Vivek has done a very good job, frankly. I think some others have done a good job," Trump said. Asked if his running mate could be among those in the 2024 field, Trump replied, "Possibly." "You have some good people on the stage actually. I think you have some very talented people," Trump said. "I"ve been impressed by some of them. Some of them I"m very friendly with, actually." "I think you have good potential Cabinet members, too," Trump added. Asked if Scott was among those Trump would consider, the former President replied, "I think he"s a very good guy. We did opportunity zones together &hellip Tim is very good. I mean, I could see Tim doing something with the administration, but he"s right now campaigning, and I"m sure Tim and everybody else would say I"m only interested in one, but Tim is a very talented guy and you have other very talented people." The Republican field is crowded and, in addition to Ramaswamy and Scott, also includes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. In a new Morning Consult Poll, 56 percent of potential GOP primary voters surveyed said they"d support Trump 17 percent said they would support DeSantis 8 percent favored Ramaswamy and 7 percent favored Pence. In an NBC News poll released at the end of June, 51% of national Republican primary voters picked Trump as their first choice in the race for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, followed by 22% who chose DeSantis, 7% who selected Pence and 5% who named Christie. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/374250
