'Right-wing government does not have to accept
terror'
MK Limor Son Har-Melech (Otzma Yehudit) emphasized in her interview with Israel National News - Arutz Sheva that the government is responding to terror with a distinct heavy hand In an interview with Israel National News - Arutz Sheva, Son Har-Melech said, "We have managed to forget that terror is not predestined. There are lessons that we need to learn and a security policy which needs to change. In a fully right-wing government we do not accept this as self understood. We have the tools to change things." Recently, Son Har-Melech found herself in the midst of an uproar, after the lobby she formed to benefit religious and haredi women seemingly refused to include liberal women's organizations such as Kolech. According to Son Har-Melech, the refusal to admit them was due to considerations of space. "We wanted the discussion to be practical and to produce results, and we knew that if they enter we will not reach something effective," she explained. The conference in question focused on gender segregation and its purpose was "to promote the occupation of women in an environment which is appropriate for their lifestyle." She added that other bodies which worked to promote women "promoted only very specific women, who speak only a very specific language and who have specific worldviews. They did not allow a foothold for a wider expanse of women from different sectors." Responding to the claims that she has been discriminatory, Son Har Melech said, "I will lead and promote every woman as she believes and as she wishes to live. We always need to give respect, to allow and give value even to those who do not live in a way similar to our value system." https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/374262
