QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A woman was discovered dead in a Queens home on Tuesday, according to officials.
Firefighters responded to the scene at a 137th Street home around 7:48 p.m. for a call about an emotionally disturbed person, according to the FDNY. The 39-year-old woman was found unconscious in the bathroom, where she was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD.
First responders smelled a chemical odor at the scene, leading to the discovery of a mixture of household chemicals in the home, according to authorities.
Hazmat units were called to investigate the scene, fire officials said. The woman didn’t have any visible signs of trauma, police said.
