The Manhattan St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday and the 2024 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on Sunday will make this an especially hairy weekend to visit the city by car, the city Department of Transportation said. Major streets will be closed across the city, especially in Manhattan and Brooklyn
On Saturday, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Manhattan will march up Fifth Avenue starting at 11 a.m. Many Midtown streets between 43rd Street and 83rd Street will be closed, the release said.
On Sunday, the NYC Half Marathon will begin at 7 a.m. in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, and run to Manhattan's Central Park and Times Square, where the race will end, according to organizers’ website and the DOT. Flatbush Avenue, the Manhattan Bridge, FDR Drive and other major streets and avenues on the East Side of Manhattan and in Midtown will be closed, the release said. The race’s full route is available here.
The city Department of Transportation also publishes an extensive list of this weekend’s street closures on its website.
