NEW YORK (PIX11) — A website is helping New York City students and interns find short-term housing for the summer.

The website interns.nyc, which the rental company Outpost runs, aims to help people who do not need a 12-month lease or cannot afford a hotel room find a place to live.

“We noticed that interns were such a significant part of our clientele, and really represent the heart of the problem that Outpost Club is trying to solve: if you’re not going to stay at a hotel and you’re not going to sign a 12-month unfurnished lease, where in New York City are you going to stay? And how are you going to meet new people in a new place if you are alone in a studio,” Jacob Shapiro with Outpost told PIX11 News.

Interns.nyc rent by room in apartments shared with other students, and interns range from $1,000 to $2,500 at the time of writing.

If you are in a group looking to rent a single apartment with friends, Outpost can also help.

“We sell both by room and by apartment. Come alone and get matched with others, or come with your group and live with your friends,” Shapiro said.

The rental’s flat fee includes “utilities, WiFi, furniture, appliances, kitchen supplies, regular cleaning and anything else you would need upon moving into a new place,” according to the website.

To see all the available options for interns and students, you can visit their website here.
