NEW YORK (PIX11) – As protests at college campuses continue across the tri-state area, four high-ranking members of the NYPD sat down with PIX11 to discuss how the department handles these demonstrations.

Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry, Deputy Commissioner Tarik Sheppard, Chief Michael Kemper, and Chief John Chell discussed a range of topics, from tense moments between the NYPD and protesters to how officers determine when an arrest should be made to so-called “outside agitators.”

PIX on Politics host Dan Mannarino also chatted with the NYPD brass about the potential for a rise in crime this summer, mental health, marijuana enforcement and social media.
