A fire at a Brooklyn row house Tuesday night left more than a dozen people injured and displaced, according to Fire Department officials.

Firefighters were called to the two-story wood frame home on Covert Street in Bushwick around 11:15 p.m., where the blaze was already in progress on the second floor.

About ten minutes later, more units were called in, as FDNY members at the scene deemed the fire at risk of spreading to adjacent buildings. A total of 106 firefighters responded.

According to the FDNY, one person was seriously injured but expected to recover. An additional 14 people suffered minor injuries, and were being treated at area hospitals.

The fire was brought under control just after midnight.

According to ABC7, the Red Cross was on scene to help those displaced, including some children, on one of the coldest nights of the season so far.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation Wednesday morning.
