QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – Two construction workers were rescued by first responders after they were pinned by a concrete slab in Queens on Tuesday, according to the FDNY.

The incident happened on 229th Street at 9:42 a.m. At least 60 firefighters and EMS members responded to the scene, fire officials said.

First responders used the Jaws of Life to get the workers out from underneath the slab, according to the FDNY.

Both were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
