New York (PIX11) – Mayor Eric Adams announced on Tuesday that people with mental illness will be involuntarily hospitalized in New York City, even if they don’t pose an immediate risk to others.
The plan combines action, care, and compassion to assist a vulnerable population, according to Adams. Dr. Jeff Gardere joined PIX11 Morning News to talk more about the mayor's plan.
