Ben-Gvir scolds Smotrich: 'You can't talk to the PA'
Today (Monday), Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reprimanded Minister Bezalel Smotrich at the cabinet meeting and accused him of favoring negotiations with the Palestinian Authority. Ben-Gvir referred to the fact that while he voted against the proposed resolution to prevent the collapse of the Palestinian Authority in the political and security cabinet, the Minister of Finance abstained from voting on the issue. "It is very important that we act against the takeover of territories by the PA, but it is equally important that we do not speak with two voices. You cannot talk about enforcement and on the other hand negotiate with the Palestinian Authority, ensuring it doesn't collapse. I am emphatically opposed to talking to them" said the Minister of National Security. Ben-Gvir added that those who hold discussions with the PA should also set limits for them. "Taking over territory in Judea and Samaria is a red line," he said. "I'm against talking to them, against helping them, and if we do help prevent their collapse, the least we can do is prevent them taking over Jewish lands," he pointed out. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/374270
