The police arrested a protester against the judicial reform this afternoon (Tuesday) on suspicion of assaulting a police officer after, during a demonstration at Haogen Junction, the protester broke a flag pole on the head of one of the police officers. The incident occurred during the dispersal of the protesters from the intersection on Route 4. The suspect was detained for questioning, at the end of which it will be decided whether to bring him to court for a hearing to extend his detention. Earlier, left-wing protesters waited for Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich during his visit to Yeruham. The minister was extracted under heavy police security. One of the demonstrators shouted to Smotrich: "Because of you, I am ashamed of my kippa (the skullcap traditionally worn by Jewish men)."
